Our sweet baby boy was born on November 6, 2012, at 4:35 pm.
He weighed 7 lb. 15 oz., was 19.5 inches long
He was a perfect little bundle of joy with a head full of dark, curly (when wet) hair! The nurse said she was having a hard time trying to make it not look girly as she was washing it, since there was so much and because of the cute curls. :)
We went into the hospital at 4:30 that morning to get induced. We were so excited and of course didn't get much sleep that night! (Oh yeah, Nathan got strep the day before, and the oven quit working that day also. Great timing huh?!) We spent the day watching the elections and just hanging out. Oh and we had already picked out the name Emmitt before we set the induction date for election day with Mitt Romney running for president. :) Pretty cool that it worked out that way though! (We made sure to vote early!)
Everything with the labor went well and I am definitely a fan of getting induced...and of epidurals!! (This was my second time getting induced.) Grandma and Grandpa Peterson came the night before and stayed with Nathan and Ian, and then brought them to the hospital after Emmitt was born. Aunt Julie, Uncle Lance, and Uncle Tyce also came to the hospital to visit. The kids were excited to meet their new baby brother! Ian was shy and didn't quite know what to think, and Nathan was in love with the baby. He just thought Emmitt was the cutest little thing and didn't want to stop looking at him. Both kids loved holding their new baby brother and were excited when we got to go home. What a blessing to have such a new, special spirit in our home. We love our little Emmitt so much and are so blessed to have him in our family!
Crazy hair!
Poor Nathan got strep the day before Emmitt was born, so he had to wear a mask.
I love how mesmerized Ian was by his tiny feet!
Love all that dark hair!
