new post finally

So let me just say it's no fun to not have the internet. We no longer have it at our house, so that is why I have disappeared for the past month and a half. I am at the library right now so this will just be a quick post with no pictures. Sorry, no fun! Anyway, to catch up with what's been going on the past month, Nathan and I were able to spend a while in Utah with my family! It was wonderful!! We had a great time visiting with family and a few friends. I'm so glad we were able to go, even though it was hard to leave everyone again. It was so nice to spend some time with my brothers before they left for their missions, and also just hang out and visit with my family. Nathan had a great time being Grandpa's big helper at work. He was Grandma's little shadow the whole time...and Grandpa's too as soon as he got home from work. Anyway, we did a lot of fun stuff that I don't have time to write about since I'm at the library. Nathan and I rode back out here with Josh's parents, who had to be out here for a work conference. It was a super long trip but we survived. Nathan actually did really well until the last couple hours, so I couldn't complain much. Then we got to have Josh's parents stay with us for a while, which was fun. Nathan loved to have Grandma and Grandpa Williams at his house. They helped us out with some projects we'd been wanting to do which was so nice of them. We also went up in the arch while they were here. It was pretty cool to look out the top, although I was pretty hesitant at first! I do have a million pictures that I've been wanting to post of the past couple months, but who knows when i'll be able to do that. Nathan is gonna be spiderman for Halloween of course, and he's pretty excited about that. Our ward is having a party and trunk or treating tonight so that should be fun. Then tomorrow we'll go trick or treat with some friends while josh stays home to study. Fun huh. Well for other news, some of you know already, but I'm about 16 weeks pregnant! We're super excited! Nathan always says it's a girl but I'm guessing boy. My family just has boys. We get to find out Dec. 1st what it is! Which kinda sucks because we got to find out earlier with Nathan but I guess they just do things differently out here or something. Oh well I guess. Anyway, we're all doing well out here in Missouri. Hope all of you have a Happy Halloween!!

splashing in the rain and climbing trees

Nathan had a blast one day playing out in the rain with Josh. He pulled up his shorts so they wouldn't get wet and ran around splashing and playing. He even decided to lay down on the driveway and make a rain angel!
Also we have a tree in our front yard now so Nathan had to try climbing it one morning..in his pajamas and flip flops! He did pretty good! While he was in the tree we saw a way cool blue lizard. At first I thought it was a snake because it was so skinny. I tried to get a picture but it was so fast I only got its tail!

Nathan's surgery

I guess next in line is Nathan's Surgery. It was sooo sad. We felt so bad because the poor little guy had no idea what was going on. We, and the doctor, were surprised when he ended up having a hernia, a cyst, and a hydrocele. Poor kid! It was so hard to let the doctors take him away to the operating room, and then to sit there and wait until he woke up again. Luckily they gave him some "silly juice" before they took him so he was already a little out of it and didn't really think too much about it when they took him from us to go to surgery. That would have made it even worse if he would've been screaming when he left. The hardest part was when he woke up. It was the saddest thing ever! He was so out of it and was crying and screaming and would not settle down. I could not get him to calm down. I felt so bad. So then Josh tried and after about twenty minutes or so, which felt like much longer, and some more pain medicine, he finally fell asleep. He slept for about an hour and a half and then woke up again. This time was much better. He wasn't quite so out of it and was able to drink some juice. They let us go home after a while, and Nathan just fell back asleep again before we even got to the car. Poor little guy couldn't even eat the popsicle that the nurse gave to him! He slept a lot that evening and didn't really eat much, which I was very glad about when he threw up all over me. Luckily it only happened once. He woke up in the middle of the night and said he wanted to walk around. What! So he tried to walk but he soon realized he was still really weak and just went back to sleep. I'm still amazed at how quickly he healed. He had surgery Monday, Tuesday he was still pretty weak, sore and tired, and by Wednesday he was back to his normal self. He still walked with a little limp and couldn't run as fast, but he sure was trying and wanted to just get out and play. So the recovery part was really fast. Today he can finally ride his bike again. He wasn't supposed to do any straddle toys for two weeks, and that is today. Hooray! Anyway, that is the rundown of the surgery. What a tough, brave little boy! We are sure glad to have it over with and especially glad that everything went well!

He didn't want to wear the pajamas there, so we talked him into it by letting his puppy wear his clothes. It wasn't too long before he just took his top off. I don't blame him, they were huge for him.

They sprayed strawberry stuff on the oxygen mask and Nathan loved it. He said it smelled like watermelon juice. He got to take it home with him and still wanted to smell it for a couple days. Funny kid!

This was after he had the silly juice, before they took him to surgery. Dazed and out of it! He was pretty funny!

After surgery when he finally relaxed and fell back to sleep.

Sound asleep back at home.

Next random pics in my file...

Here are some random pictures of a few things Nathan did while Josh and I were trying to pack everything for moving... Yes those are Nathan's feet with gloves on. He thought it was pretty cool!

And then here are some pics of Nathan and some friends playing outside at the new house...
It's nice that he can finally ride his bike outside now! Not sure why he's looking so grumpy..

Cute little Griffith posing for me

I thought this was so funny. They're all copying each other doing something with their fingers.

Ready, set, GO! They had lots of fun racing up and down the driveway.

Trying to catch up...Grants Farm

So I guess it's time to get back to it before I get even more far behind. First of all we went to Grants Farm with some friends a few weeks ago. This was basically the only thing we really got to go out and do while Josh was on his break, because everything was just so busy. We had fun and of course Nathan loved it again. This time we got to watch the elephant show, which was pretty cool.
I just realized I put the carousel picture on here twice...sorry- I'm not gonna take the time to fix it!
