Last night we wanted to go out to dinner so we decided to go to Applebees. We always liked it in Utah so we thought we'd give it a try here. Let me just say that the dinner experience was an eye opener for me and I realized once again that we're not in Utah anymore! When we first walked in I was disgusted by the stale smoke smell, but it got even worse when the lady sitting right next to us lit up a cigarette. I've never had that happen in Utah, and I'm definitely glad! I can't understand why people smoke while they are eating. Is it that big of a sacrifice to go an hour without smoking while you're at a restaurant?!! Anyway so then we got our food and tried to eat past the smell/taste of smoke surrounding us. We ate our meals pretty fast so we could get out of there! And the food wasn't as good as the Applebees in Utah either. We were really dissapointed. While we were there I actually wished we had just stayed home to eat, and I hardly ever think that when we go out. So I guess we will be crossing Applebees off our list of places to eat here. Hopefully we'll have better luck and less smoke with our next choice of places for dinner!

Ugh, that is horrible! I don't know why people smoke at all, let alone in a restaurant. That is so disgusting. Sorry!
I feel your pain!! we lived in Vegas when I was pregnant with Travin, EVERYONE in Vegas smokes and at the restraunts the smoking section and non smokeing section was seperated with like a plant!! Good Luck

Beth, I made my background with a digital scrapbooking kit that I downloaded for free. And as for the potty training, it is going pretty good I guess. He went a couple days without any accidents but then had a lot of accidents yesterday. And he is starting to fight me and gets mad when I make him try to go potty now, any ideas for that?
hey, that is a definite disadvantage to living there. a lot of states are starting to pass the clean air act but not all of them unfortunalely. (nevada has adopted that one now, so unless you eat at the casino you wont be eating smoke anymore - just an fyi for your friend) there is actually a really good applebees up in O'Fallon (I think that was where it was anyway), we used to go up there to that one a lot but that might be a little further from where you live than it was for us. just a suggestion. :)
good luck with the potty training, it gets so frustrating sometimes. we still have days that gracie just doesn't care and she has been potty trained for a year! uuggghhh!!! oh well just keep doing laundry i guess. :) good luck!
